Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time is a beat 'em up that Konami released in arcades on 18 September 1991. Players pick Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo or Donatello and set out to recover the Statue of Liberty, which Shredder and Krang have stolen during a live TV broadcast. Shredder's time machine then throws the turtles into different eras, each guarded by his henchmen.
In 1992 the game reached the Super NES as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time; Europe knew it as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles IV. The home version is more than a straight port: bosses get health bars, and an extra stage takes place in the Technodrome. The arcade original never came out in Japan, so only the Super NES game has a Japanese version.
Both versions are part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, released on 30 August 2022, which adds online play for each of them.12
