Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! was released in Japan as Super Donkey Kong 3: Nazo no Kuremisu-tō (スーパードンキーコング3 謎のクレミス島), meaning Mysterious Kremis Island. Today the easiest legal way to play the SNES original is the Nintendo Switch Online SNES library, where it was added on 18 December 2020.

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! is a platformer developed by Rare and released by Nintendo for the SNES in November 1996; the Japanese version, Super Donkey Kong 3: Nazo no Kuremisu-tō, followed on 23 November 1996. Players control Dixie Kong and the toddler Kiddy Kong across 8 worlds and 48 levels and can switch between the two at any time. Every voice in the game was provided by Rare staff member Kevin Bayliss.

Eveline Fischer composed most of the SNES music, with additional tracks by David Wise. The game sold over 3.5 million copies, though its November release may have hurt sales because the Nintendo 64 was already on the market.

The 2005 Game Boy Advance version is more than a straight port: it has a completely new soundtrack by David Wise, a new world and extra mini-games. The SNES original has since returned on the Virtual Console and Nintendo Switch Online.12
