Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest is a platformer developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the SNES. It came out in North America on 20 November 1995 and in Japan a day later, on 21 November 1995, where it was called Super Donkey Kong 2: Dixie & Diddy. Players control Diddy Kong and the newcomer Dixie Kong, who can float by spinning her ponytail, across 52 levels in eight worlds; Wrinkly Kong also debuts here.
Rare made this sequel more challenging after veteran players complained about the first game, and David Wise composed the entire soundtrack. The game sold about 4.37 million copies in the US and Japan and became the sixth best-selling SNES game.
A Game Boy Advance version followed in 2004 with mini-games and other additions, and the SNES original later returned on the Virtual Console and on Nintendo Switch Online.12
