Chrono Cross is a role-playing game from Square in the Chrono series. It was released in Japan on November 18, 1999, and in North America on August 15, 2000; the PlayStation version never came out in Europe. Masato Kato directed and wrote the game, Hiromichi Tanaka produced it, and Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtrack won the Gold Prize at the PlayStation Awards of 2000.
In Japan the game went through several editions: a limited release as the third entry of the Square Millennium Collection, PS one Books and Ultimate Hits budget versions, and a Game Archives release for PS3 and PSP in 2011. North America got it on PlayStation Network as a PS one Classic the same year.
On April 7, 2022, Square Enix released Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition for Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Windows. The remaster bundles the text adventure Radical Dreamers, adds an option to turn off encounters and includes official French, Italian, German and Spanish text.1
