The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse is a Capcom platformer for the SNES and the first game in the Magical Quest trilogy. Mickey travels through six levels and can change into four outfits, each giving him different abilities. A two-player mode lets players take turns.
A Sega Mega Drive port was planned but abandoned. The SNES game was still a big success, selling 1.2 million copies worldwide; critics liked its graphics, animation and costume system but found it short and easy, partly because continues are unlimited.
In 2002 the game was remade for the Game Boy Advance as Disney's Magical Quest Starring Mickey and Minnie, published by Nintendo. The remake adds Minnie as a second playable character, four multiplayer minigames and a save feature, and can link to Disney's Magical Mirror on GameCube.1
