In Russia this 1998 adventure is known as Petka i Vasiliy Ivanovich spasayut galaktiku; in English it is sold as Red Comrades Save the Galaxy. The easiest legal way to play it today is the 2016 Reloaded edition on Steam, which has Russian voice acting and English text.

Red Comrades Save the Galaxy is a Russian point-and-click comedy adventure developed by S.K.I.F. (formerly SBG Studio) and published by Buka in early November 1998. The idea came up in early 1996 among the editors of the SBG Magazine e-zine, and development took about two and a half years, a year longer than planned. It was the first game released in Russia on three CDs.

The heroes are the Civil War commander Chapaev and his aide Petka, voiced by Alexander Pozharov and Boris Linnikov. They set out to recover their regiment's stolen banner, while aliens from a ship that became the Moon, woken by the Aurora's shot in 1917, invade the village of Gadyukino. The plot borrows from Dmitry Furmanov's novel Chapaev and from Soviet-era jokes, and the game is credited with helping establish the Russian adventure genre. It also started a series, continued by Petka i Vasiliy Ivanovich 2: Sudnyi den.

The remastered Reloaded edition came out on Steam on 18 February 2016 as Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded.123

The 1998 original was made for Windows 95/98. The simplest option today is the Reloaded edition on Steam: it supports newer Windows versions and widescreen, and also runs on Mac and Linux.
