Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 was sold in North America and Europe under that name (in full, Disney's Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2) and in Japan as チップとデールの大作戦2. The easiest legal way to play it today is The Disney Afternoon Collection on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Switch.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 is Capcom's sequel to its 1990 NES game based on the Disney cartoon. It came out in Japan on 10 December 1993, in North America in January 1994 and in Europe on 29 September 1994, and it was Capcom's last Famicom release. Tokuro Fujiwara produced it, with music by Sachiko Oita and Akihiro Akamatsu.

The story begins when Fat Cat escapes from prison and steals the Urn of the Pharaoh, releasing evil spirits; the finale takes place in an amusement park. Collecting Rescue Ranger badges raises the life gauge, and some bonus stages can only be entered in two-player mode. In co-op, one chipmunk can now pick up and throw the other.

The game is included in The Disney Afternoon Collection, first released in April 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. An eight-game Switch and Switch 2 edition published by Atari followed on 26 February 2026.12

Reception

GamePro named it a runner-up for its 1993 NES Game of the Year, behind Kirby's Adventure, and Electronic Gaming Monthly said it 'comes off rather well' for an 8-bit game. Famitsu's cross review gave it 20 out of 40.1
