Blood was also sold as Blood: One Unit Whole Blood (1998, with both add-ons) and later remastered by Nightdive Studios as Fresh Supply (2019) and Refreshed Supply (2025). Refreshed Supply is the edition sold today on Steam and GOG.com.

Blood is a first-person shooter built on the Build engine, developed by Monolith Productions and published by GT Interactive. Development began at Q Studios in 1995 with funding from 3D Realms; Monolith acquired Q Studios in November 1996, and on 22 January 1997 all rights were sold to Monolith so that 3D Realms could focus on Shadow Warrior. Nick Newhard directed the game, and the music was composed by Daniel Bernstein and Guy Whitmore.

The player is Caleb, a gunslinger betrayed and killed by the Cabal cult, who returns from the dead to take revenge on the cult's god Chernobog. Monolith enhanced the Build engine with better lighting, real-time shadows and rooms above rooms, and Blood was the first Build game to use voxels.

The shareware version came out on 7 March 1997 and the full game in North America on 21 May 1997. PlayStation and Sega Saturn ports were planned but never completed. Decades later, Nightdive Studios released Fresh Supply on 9 May 2019 and Refreshed Supply on 4 December 2025 for PC and consoles.12
