ContentFamicom
The Famicom version reworks the scenario with new layouts for the town, fields and dungeons, swaps several music tracks and changes the final battle: flames replace the holes in the floor.1

GameplayMaster System
The Master System port mirrors parts of the dungeons horizontally and has fewer enemies, so levelling up takes longer.1
-
AudioMaster System (JP)
The Japanese Master System release supports FM sound; the overseas release does not.1
-
AudioMSX2
The MSX2 version replaces part of the soundtrack with new tracks.2
-
GraphicsX68000
The 1991 X68000 version uses pre-rendered 3D sprites for bosses, which stand out against the 2D graphics, and redraws event scenes in a photo-like style.2
-
GameplayYs Eternal and later
From the Windows remake Ys Eternal onwards, the hero moves in eight directions and can dash, there is a port town, and difficulty levels include a time-attack mode.1
