X-Men is an action platformer developed by Western Technologies Inc and published by Sega for the Genesis. It was released in North America on 15 March 1993 and in the UK in June 1993.
One or two players choose from Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Cyclops. Storm, Rogue, Iceman and Archangel can be called in for support, and Jean Grey picks up characters who fall. The game's most famous moment comes in the level Mojo's Crunch, where the player has to lightly press the console's reset button to continue; because of this, the game cannot be completed on the Genesis Nomad.
Bruce Straley worked on the game as a designer and artist, and Fletcher Beasley wrote the music using the G.E.M.S. system for the Yamaha YM2612 sound chip. The game sold over a million copies.1
