Road Rash II is a motorcycle racing game that Electronic Arts released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in North America and Europe in December 1992. Kevin McGrath directed it, Randy Breen and Dan Geisler designed it, and Rob Hubbard and Don Veca wrote the music.
The player races against fourteen other riders and has to finish third or higher to move on. There are five levels of five races each, set in Hawaii, Arizona, Tennessee, Alaska and Vermont. The sequel added chains as a weapon, and the police could now be hit and would fight back. The cartridge grew from 5 to 8 megabits, which made room for a split-screen two-player mode; Geisler spent about three months on it. A two-player-only mode called Mano a Mano sits alongside split-screen and hotseat play.
A Game Boy Color conversion appeared in 2000 under the plain title Road Rash, the Genesis game returned in the EA Replay compilation for PSP in 2006, and it is one of the games on the Sega Genesis Mini.1
