QuackShot Starring Donald Duck is a platformer developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. It came out in 1991, reaching Europe in December 1991 and Japan on 20 December 1991. Emiko Yamamoto directed it, Shigenori Kamiya composed the music, and Sega showed it at the 1991 Consumer Electronics Show in May.
Inspired by the Indiana Jones films, the game sends Donald on a treasure hunt around the world. Each level has an overland section, which can be visited in any order, and a dungeon. Donald's gun fires plungers, popcorn or bubble gum; the plunger later works as a temporary platform or sticks to a bird to carry him further, and chilli peppers trigger a temporary invincible quack attack.
In 1996 the game was paired with Castle of Illusion on the Disney Collection cartridge, and in 1998 Japan got the Sega Saturn compilation Sega Ages: I Love Mickey Mouse with the same pairing.12
