The NES Home Alone was developed by Bethesda Softworks and published by THQ in North America in October 1991. It is based on the 1990 film about Kevin, the boy left alone at home with two burglars trying to break in.
The goal is simple to state and hard to pull off: stay out of the hands of Harry and Marv, the Wet Bandits, for 20 minutes. Kevin sets traps made from household items, and each trap has a different strength. He can also hide behind parts of the house, but only for two turns in a row.
Between 1991 and 1993 other systems received games under the same name, and all of them play differently; the SNES and Game Boy versions were developed by Imagineering. In Japan, the Home Alone games for Nintendo platforms were published by Altron.1
