Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun kept the same title worldwide; since March 2024 it has been on Steam as Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun and Firestorm, offered through EA Play. EA also licensed the game as freeware in 2010.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a real-time strategy game developed by Westwood Studios and released for Windows on 27 August 1999. It was published by Electronic Arts, which had acquired Westwood in 1998. The release slipped several times: from November 1998 to spring 1999 and finally to summer 1999.

The story begins the Second Tiberium War in 2030 with the return of Kane. Destructible and repairable bridges took far longer to build than planned and became a core part of map design.

The Firestorm expansion followed on 7 March 2000 and restored several features that had been cut from the base game. EA licensed Tiberian Sun as freeware on 12 February 2010, and a Steam release followed on 7 March 2024.1
