The Genesis game was sold as Disney's Aladdin in North America and simply as Aladdin in Europe and Japan. The easiest legal way to play it today is Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King (2019), available on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Windows (Steam).

Disney's Aladdin is a platformer developed by Virgin Games with Disney Software and released by Sega for the Genesis (Mega Drive) in 1993; David Perry directed it. Work began in January 1993 with ten animators drawing the frames by hand, and Virgin's California studio digitised the animation with an in-house process called "Digicel" to fit it onto the cartridge. Virgin had to finish by October 1993 to match the film's home-video release, leaving about three-quarters of the usual development time.

The game came out in Europe on 22 October 1993 and in Japan on 12 November 1993. It sold four million copies and became the third best-selling Genesis game of all time. A Sega CD version was planned but never entered official development. Amiga and DOS versions followed, and a separate 8-bit adaptation appeared on the NES and Game Boy.

This is not the only Aladdin game of 1993: Capcom developed and published a completely different platformer for the Super NES. That version joined the Genesis game in the 2021 Disney Classic Games Collection, alongside The Jungle Book.123
