Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven is the sixth game in the Might and Magic role-playing series. It was developed by New World Computing and published by 3DO for Windows on 30 April 1998. Jon Van Caneghem, Bryan Farina and Paul Rattner designed it; development began in 1996 and the game was announced at E3 in April 1998.
Two engines, Horizon and Labyrinth, render 3D landscapes, buildings and dungeons, while trees, characters and creatures are pre-rendered 2D sprites. It was also the first Might and Magic game with full-motion video cinematics. A map in Heroes of Might and Magic III adapts a region of Might and Magic VI.
Japanese Wikipedia notes that Imagineer released Japanese versions of Might and Magic VI through IX, without giving dates.123
